Research area

Yiyao is currently investigating the similarity between particles and bacterial spores, particularly in terms of their surface characteristics and aggregation tendencies both at the interface and within the bulk solution. The goal of her project is to understand spore behavior from a colloidal science aspect. By leveraging the inherent resistance properties of spores and their capacity to induce growth, she aims to use them as fundamental building blocks for creating living materials and introduce a new dimension to existing material systems.
